August 1, 1992. Dear Dr. Karas, You are the "Angel of Sight"! For thirteen years my eye sight became progressively worse, forcing me to wear glasses by the age of twelve then contact lenses by fifteen. I would wake in the morning to a blurred world, unable to see anything past the tip of my nose. Swimming was a nightmare; it was either see everything and not get my head wet, or go under water and not see a thing! My life revolved around those two tiny pieces of plastic that I would place in my eyes each morning. And God forbid if I fell asleep wearing them. Then I discovered Radial Keratotomy. I read extensively about it, I investigated its origins and success rates and even did a feature on our show, on the the procedure. But nothing would prepare me for the wonder of its miraculous effects until I personally had it done a few weeks ago. My eyes now open each morning to a focused world and I owe it all to you. You have given me back what Mother Nature was taking from me. You're exquisite staff, your lovely wife and your able hands have given me, in a painless and instantaneous way, the 20/20 vision I lost long ago. Who would have believed that perfect sight was only a few incisions away? I encourage anyone reading this letter who is considering having Radial Keratotomy to hurry up and do it. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING! I wish again to thank you're lovely staff and especially you, the "Angel of Sight'", for this most precious gift. Your patient and friend, Robert Steiner Senior Story Producer. |
